JOPLIN, Mo – Missouri Southern State University is hosting “An Evening of Words and Pictures with Bill Sienkiewicz”.

This event will be held on Thursday, October 13 in Plaster Hall’s Cornell Auditorium.

Missouri Southern will showcase the award-winning comics from artist and author Bill Sienkiewicz.

Some of his featured work includes:

  • “New Mutants”
  • “Moon Knights”
  • “Elektra: Assassin”

Dr. Michael Howarth, director of the Honors Program, said that Sienkiewicz comics fit his lecture series.

“Students like the opportunity to talk to people who are doing great things in their field. Given the growing popularity in respect to comic books and graphic novels, I was looking for someone in that field who could come and talk,” Howarth stated.

Before traveling to Joplin, Sienkiewicz will be at the New York Comicon this weekend.

The event is free to the public and will include a question-and-answer session.
