Thousands in Pittsburg are celebrating the city’s history this weekend. Little Balkans Days is back for its 34th year. More than 100 craft and food vendors set up booths in Lincoln Park for a day of fun. There was plenty of live music, good food and other events, such as a car show, civil war reenactments and more. It’s all to keep Pittsburg’s cultural history alive

“It was to celebrate our ethnic and cultural heritage,” says Little Balkans Festival Association president Angela Meyer. “We’re truly a melting pot in Southeast Kansas so we put this festival on every year to have a community event that not only lets people come together and celebrate but to really understand who we are and where we came from.”
