Dozens of floats and cars made their way down Main Street as children snatched up candy and waved to Santa Claus.

Carl Junction’s choir and marching band provided music throughout the event.

This year’s parade was hosted by the Lion’s Club and an event official hopes this brings greater awareness to what the service organization does.

“We provide glasses for kids that need it and older people also, but we concentrate on young people because they can’t learn in school if they can’t see,” explained Marilyn Harris, Parade Coordinator in Carl Junction.

There were 41 floats in the parade total.
