Lincoln Days hosted by local republican committees

JOPLIN, Mo. – Jasper and Newton County Republicans held their annual “Lincoln Days” Saturday. The event is a way for people in the area to visit with elected officials. They were unable to host the event last year due to the pandemic, and this year decided on a smaller venue due to virus concerns. Officials say that this event serves as an important fundraiser.

Alan Griffin from the Jasper County Republican Central Committee, says the profit from Saturday’s dinner will help with both the Jasper and Newton County republicans.

“It’s basically a big fundraiser, a portion of the dinner tonight helps each county with the things we need to do, whether it be pamphlets or mailers, or to help fund.”

Tickets for the event started at $45 and both Jasper and Newton County split the profit to fund their organization’s needs.
