Lightning strike blamed for Barton County barn fire

BARTON COUNTY, Mo. – Crews fight a barn fire in southwest Missouri that was believed to be caused by a lightning strike.

According to the Barton County Sheriff’s  Office, 911 got a report of a structure fire at 109 SW 40th Rd. around 11:00 a.m. Authorities say the Lamar Fire Department responded along with the Barton County Ambulance, and Deputies of the Sheriff’s Office. The Jasper Fire Department also responded for mutual aid.
