MCDONALD COUNTY, Kan. - Award-Winning Author Ibi Zoboi stopped by McDonald County High School today to talk to students about her experiences as an author.
Ibi Zoboi is a Haitian-American author of young adult fiction who has received national recognition for her work.
Her young adult novel American Street was a finalist for the National Book Award for Young Adult Literature in 2017.
The event included a question and answer session, a book reading, and an opportunity for students to purchase and get their books signed.
"We are thrilled to have Ibi Zoboi join us at McDonald County High School," said Jill Williams, McDonald County High School Librarian. "Her work resonates with young readers across the country, and we know our students will be inspired by her insights on writing, culture, and the power of storytelling. Her books American Street, Punching the Air, and Pride are very popular among our readers and are almost always checked out by our students."
