Learning to have an uncomfortable conversation
Pitt State Director of Student Diversity Programs Deatrea Rose spoke with Jesse about ways that we can be learn more about one another's perspective.
The deaths of George Floyd, Ahmaud Arbery, and Brianna Taylor have sparked a lot of conversation about racism and discrimination — more specifically, what we can do as individuals and as a society in order to eliminate those barriers and microagressions in our world.
Deatrea Rose, the director of student diversity programs at Pitt State, joined us to discuss the different ways we can begin having those tougher conversations about our own biases, and ways that we can work both help each other and better understand what it’s like to be in one another’s shoes.
