Numerous rounds of storms over the next several days. -Doug

I hope you have been having a great week so far and of course ready for the holiday weekend.  Can you believe it is already Memorial Holiday Weekend?  But like every year it is going to be a wet weekend.  This is very typical for the month of May.  I am still going to hit the lake for the weekend and dodge the storms, but I will definitely keep you updated on the rounds of showers and thunderstorms.  So we might as well dig into it.  We thankfully had a few days to dry out after all of the rain we had last week.  Now we are going back into a pretty wet stretch over the next week.  More scattered thunderstorms work in early Saturday morning.  Some of these could be on the strong side and mainly after 4am.

7am Friday

A big band of storms will be cruising across the state of Kansas and working into the 4-state area through the morning hours.  Some of these could have strong winds with hail and be at the severe limit during the morning hours.  This is something I will monitor closely.

10am

Most of these storms will be out of here by early afternoon.  Then it gets a little tricky.  If these storms get out of here by 1 or 2 pm, then the atmosphere will have time to recover and become unstable once again.  If this occurs, then by late afternoon and early evening.  Scattered thunderstorms will once again develop.  These storms will also have a chance to be severe with hail, wind and isolated tornadoes.  But again, it all depends on how fast these storms work out around the noon hour.

Late Afternoon

These scattered storms will be out of here late evening.  Most of Friday night after the scattered storms will be okay.  We do need to watch for pop-up storms on Saturday, but I think most of the day looks okay.  This is your best shot if you want to do some outdoor activities.

Saturday Afternoon.

Scattered thunderstorms right back in on Sunday and lasting into Monday.  Check out our severe threats the next few weeks.
