More thunderstorms on Friday, plus what is to come down the road? -Doug

Good Thursday night!  I hope your week is going great so far.  Mine has been super busy as I have been in KC with my boy and heading back up tonight after work.  But it has been a good week.  Plus, our weather has been super nice the past several days.  We did get some scattered strong storms on Thursday evening that dropped some very heavy amounts of rain.  More rain is on the way later tonight.  Most of these scattered storms will be after 4 AM, but again some very heavy rains and some stronger storms.  I don’t expect anything severe but will watch them.  Here is a look at 6 AM Friday morning.

6 Am

These stick around through the morning.  Here is 9 AM

9 Am

These will start to taper and move out by late morning.  However, a few late afternoon pop up storms are still possible.  I do think we will have a lot of clouds sticking around.  So, this will keep our temperatures from warming up to much during the afternoon.

Then again, late Friday night and Saturday morning, more thunderstorms develop.  Now, most of these will be north and east of the area, but a few could sneak back into the region.

Saturday Am

Heat and humidity kick back in by Saturday afternoon.

Saturday Pm

With the humidity on the high side, check out what the heat indices will pop up to.

Heat Index

Heat and humidity stick around on Sunday.  However, I do think Sunday will be mainly dry right now.  Our next system will slide in on Monday afternoon.  A cold front will push in, but most likely not through the area.  However, chances for showers and thunderstorms will increase once again.

Make sure you check out the long range forecast below into the month of September.

Long range forecast through August:

Next Friday-Saturday:  Heat and humidity stick around.  Mainly dry both days.

August 16th-22nd:  A hot start to the week, but back to 80s for highs the second half of the week.  With multiple waves working through.  Isolated storm chances each day.

August 23rd-29th:  Another warm start for Sunday and Monday before the heat returns for the rest of the week. T-storm chances are lined up for Sunday and for Thursday through Saturday.

August 30th-September 5th:  A hot start, warm middle and hot finish to the week.  Thunderstorms chances on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday.
