Latest updated blog: More rain and wintry weather! -Doug

Rainfall

I hope your week has started off great so far!  Wow, where did our fall go?  We had a record  high of 85 just last week and now wintry weather on Monday.  We get a little wintry weather many years in October, but it still isn’t typical.  Our NW counties picked up about and inch of snow.  As you work farther south, it was mainly freezing rain and snow mixed with minor accumulations.  I-44 and south mainly stayed on the rain side.  However, we still have more moisture heading our way.  This is probably the biggest series of systems that we have in this pattern that will return in each cycle.  So in the winter months, we will see these 3 more times over the next few months.  This is going off the Heady Pattern, which isn’t as active over the next 11 months, but some big systems are definitely possible.  Okay, drizzle and some freezing drizzle continues into the morning hours.

4 Am

light freezing drizzle into the morning hours.  I am not expecting many issues, but if you live north of I-44, watch the bridges and over passes.  As the morning continues, temperatures should warm into the mid 30 and most of us should just go over to plain old cold rain.

10am Tuesday

Rain continues into the afternoon and slowly tapers as temperatures warm into the upper 30s.

Tuesday Pm

Tuesday night, we continue with scattered light showers but we stay above freezing.  Here comes the next wave on Wednesday.  This should give us some heavier rains, which we need.

Wednesday Pm

Showers and even a few thunderstorms on Wednesday afternoon and into Wednesday night.  Showers stick around through the first half of the day on Thursday as our main system passes by.  This will drop our temperatures again on Thursday, but we will stay above freezing.  Mainly a cold rain in the 40s.

Thursday Am

We need a good soaker as we have been pretty dry the past couple of months.  Most of us picked up at least and inch of rain on Monday, so we will take 2-3″ of additional rain the next few days.

Rainfall

Good news is we warm up for the weekend and Halloween looks fantastic.  Alright, I am cutting out of here.  I had a fight with a tree branch over the weekend and the tree branch won.  So my right eye is swollen shut, that is why Nick is on air tonight.  So I am having  a hard time seeing the computer.  But long range forecast is below.
