Latest updated blog – Have the rain gear handy today – Nick

And keep it handy at times for this week as well

Good Sunday morning, everyone. Sure enough, Mother Nature isn’t letting us have too much dry time across the area. We saw rain work back into the area this morning as our upper level wave works out of the state of Colorado. That wave will continue to keep light to moderate rain in here for this morning as lows start in the lower 40s.

Once we get into the afternoon, the clouds will stick with us as some showers also try to stick around. With temperatures in the lower 50 for most and rain chances at least backing off in coverage, the best chance to get outside will be during the afternoon.

Even with light amounts of rain expected, it’s just more rain that we don’t need. Still, we’ll see today’s rain amounts range between a quarter and three-quarters of an inch for most spots.

Heading into Monday, we’ll head back into the 60s for highs as most of the day stays dry. However, our next wave that’s out in the Pacific tonight will work in for late Monday night and early Tuesday morning. This will be another round of rain and potentially strong t-storms to start your Tuesday out.

Once that wave clears out by late Tuesday afternoon, the 70s will return for Wednesday and Thursday as skies stay quiet. By late next week, the wave that’s sitting out in the Gulf of Alaska will start to dig across the western United States. As it does, we’ll have another shot of rain and t-storms as we get next weekend started.
