Late Wednesday January 15th – Our next storm system is on the move

Watching rain, freezing rain and sleet chances ready to move in

Good late Wednesday evening, everyone. Despite mostly cloudy skies that held in place today, we saw temperatures push into mild territory in spots. After we started in the upper 40s and lower 50s this morning, we had temperatures climb into the upper 50s and lower 60s across the area. Late in the morning, however, we had a cold front work through and switch our wind back from the north. That is setting us up for a cold but quiet night as we work into Thursday.

For Thursday, we’ll stay dry under mostly cloudy skies through the day. After we get past our cold start in the morning, we should climb back into the upper 30s and lower 40s for the afternoon. After a quiet day, our focus will be on rain chances working back in Thursday evening. As temperatures drop close to freezing, that will bring the chance for freezing rain and sleet into the equation for Thursday night and Friday morning. We’ll have to put up with this storm system before we trend quieter for the rest of the coming weekend. The latest look at the forecast, including what to expect with our rain and wintry mix chances, is down below…

Don’t forget that Doug has your long range forecast based off his Heady Pattern through February down below.

Have a good night and a great Thursday!
