Late Thursday October 10th – Turning much colder
Possible frost/freeze on the way as well
JOPLIN, Mo. — Good Thursday evening, everyone. Our day turned out to be an interesting one. Not only did we have strong to severe t-storms to start the morning out, we had another batch fire up across parts of the area late this afternoon and into the evening. In between those rounds and mostly cloudy skies, we did manage to warm into the middle to upper 70s across the area for highs today. We’ll trend drier as we head into Friday, but we’ll still have some scattered showers and t-storms in our southern areas on the radar below as we head into Friday morning…
After the last of the rain chances and the clouds clear out Friday morning, we’ll have a quiet afternoon to enjoy. The northwest wind will make it markedly colder for the afternoon before we head toward our first good frost (possible freeze) for Saturday morning. For a closer look at that and the rest of the forecast, the video below will get you up to speed…
Don’t forget that Doug has your long range forecast out through early November down below.
Have a good night and a great Friday!
Long range forecast through early November:
LONG RANGE FORECAST BASED OFF THE HEADY PATTERN. THIS COVERS NEBRASKA, IOWA, KANSAS, MISSOURI, OKLAHOMA AND ARKANSAS.
Next Week: Warming up early in the week with a cold front rolling through late Monday and into Tuesday. We could see a few showers with this, but it doesn’t look like a big deal. Warming back up the rest of the week with thunderstorm chances on Thursday and Friday.
October 20th-26th: Next cold front is due in by Monday. This will give us scattered showers and thunderstorms with cooler temperatures working in for the middle of the week. Cool to mild the rest of the week and it should be dry.
October 27th-November 2nd: A cool start to the week with rain chances on Sunday. A little warmer for mid week with rain chances with our next cold front on Thursday and Friday. Then cooling back down a bit late in the week.
November 3rd-9th: A mild start to the week but cooling down by mid week with a storm system. This system will give us rain chances on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. The rest of the week cool but mainly dry.
