Late Sunday December 8th – Cool Down on the Way

Watching other waves this week
Late Sunday December 8th – Cool Down on the Way

Good late Sunday evening, everyone. Sure enough, we had plenty of cloud cover work back into the area to wrap up the weekend today. Despite that, the south wind helped temperatures stay above normal. Once we started in the lower to middle 40s this morning, we saw highs climb back into the middle to upper 50s today. We’ll keep an eye on a few showers that’ll try to pop up on the radar below overnight and into Monday morning…

Even though our next system working in could give us a few showers for Monday, it’ll mainly do two things for us. One thing is that it will keep the cloud cover around for Monday. Two, it will usher in colder air once the northwest wind kicks in by the start of Monday afternoon. This spell of colder air will continue through Tuesday before temperatures moderate by midweek. On top of it all, we have two additional waves we’re watching by the end of the week and early next week. Your latest look at the week ahead is right below…

Don’t forget that Doug has your long range forecast out into late next January down below. Have a good night and a great Monday!

Long range forecast through late next January:

Next Week: A cool to cold week with rain chances on Monday and Tuesday. We could mix with some wintry weather late in this system. Another system on Friday and Saturday with rain over snow by Friday.

December 22nd – 28th: Mainly a cold week with rain and snow chances on Sunday and Monday. Some light snow could linger into Christmas Eve. Another system with rain and snow chances on Friday and Saturday.

December 29th – January4th: Mainly another cold week. Just a slight chance for rain on Thursday and Saturday with weak fast moving waves.

January 5th – 11th: Rain, snow and ice chances to start the week. Then mainly cold again with rain and snow chances on Thursday. A fast wave over the weekend with a few rain or snow showers.

January 12th-18th: A cool start to the week with mild temperatures for the middle of the week. A weak mid-week wave with a few showers. Bigger system moves in by the weekend.
