Laptop with applications for Christmas for Kids program is stolen

Organizers with the Newton County, Missouri Christmas for Kids program say an unfortunate incident happened on December 12th, 2018. They say a vehicle was broken into and a briefcase containing a laptop was stolen.

On that laptop was applications filled out by families for the Newton County Christmas for Kids program, a partner with the KOAM Toybox campaign. “We would love to see the applications returned so that we may help those less fortunate this Christmas season,” says a statement released by the organization.

“To the person that broke in my truck and Stole the laptop bag. I do not care about the laptop….I do care about the Christmas for Kids Applications!! PLEASE return them to my porch. If you have filled out an application. please go fill out another for us,” posted the owner of the truck on social media.

If you have filled out an application or are in need of assistance, they ask you to please go to your local Newton County Fire Department as listed below, Newton County Ambulance Headquarters, 1011 W. Hill St, Neosho, MO., Extreme Sports Scuba, 5203 S. Rangeline, Joplin, MO. They will also be accepting applications at the Neosho Fire Department, 125 N. College, Neosho, MO, on Saturday, December 15, 2018 from 8 am thru 2 pm.

This does not affect the Joplin Area Firefighters Christmas for Kids program.
