Land once owned by Mickey Mantle bought to benefit Commerce kids

COMMERCE, Okla. – The Commerce, Oklahoma city council decides the future of land once owned by baseball legend Mickey Mantle.

A dispute over what to do with the land has been brewing since the dissolution of the board that once owned it. The land then went to the city.

Since then, the city received a proposal to buy the land to be the site of a future medical marijuana facility. That proposal fell through. Tuesday night the council voted to approve the sale of the land to C3 Community Church. The church plans to build something for the kids in the community on the property.

C3 Community Church is buying the land for $130,000
