Lamar Elks Lodge hosts Easter egg drive through

The local organization wanted residents to be able to safely celebrate the Easter holiday

LAMAR, Mo. – The Elks Lodge in Lamar wanted to give members of the community an Easter celebration but also wanted to do it safely. So instead of a traditional egg hunt, they hosted an egg drive-through.

Members of the community came out to Lamar City Park in their vehicles to pick up their bags of Easter eggs filled with money, candy, and toys.

Cathy Stout, Lamar Elks Lodge secretary said they chose this option due to the risk of spreading Covid-19.

“We did not want to be held liable if somebody should happen to get sick. Normally we do the Easter egg hunt where… it’s a free for all, and there’s usually a ton of people in a very close proximity and we just thought this would be the best option this year,” Stout said.

Over 100 vehicles come through to collect their Easter eggs.
