Labette Bank donates new city hall to City of Chetopa
Chetopa, Kansas now has a brand new city hall thanks to a donation by Labette Bank.
The bank donated the building to the city after problems with Chetopa’s current city hall forced city officials to work elsewhere.
The process to transfer the property to the city took about eight-months.
The new building will be home to city hall staff, the police department, and maintenance department.
“We’re so excited, we’ve had problems with our old city building, we’ve had some mold issues and the building is really in disrepair so this has been a God send,” says Chetopa Mayor Ron Wood.
The city hopes to have all departments moved into the new city hall location by the end of the month.
