KS Rep. Jake LaTurner tests positive for COVID-19
Congressman announced positive test hours after voting on the House floor
WASHINGTON – Rep. Jake LaTurner of the Kansas 2nd Congressional District has been infected with COVID-19.
The Republican freshman congressman from Galena, Kansas made the announcement Wednesday night on Twitter. LaTurner took a COVID-19 test because of Washington D.C.’s guidelines that calls for visitors to be checked.
According to his tweet, LaTurner doesn’t have any symptoms. LaTurner voted in person on the House floor shortly before his positive test.
He says he’s following guidelines from the CDC and won’t come back to the House floor until he he’s given the all-clear.
Congressman LaTurner is following the advice of the House physician and CDC guidelines and, therefore, does not plan to return to the House floor for votes until he is cleared to do so.
