Lawrence County, Mo – Developments in the case of a nearly 30 year old murder. An indictment for murder was issued from a Lawrence County grand jury for 65-year-old Lawrence Timmons of Pierce City. The sheriff’s office re-opened the case after being contacted by a private investigation firm with new information. The murder case involved victim Cynthia Smith. She was reported missing after being last seen in Mount Vernon in 1988. Her body was located in rural Pierce City cemetery

Jasper County, Mo – A Jasper County family’s home is up in smoke after a fire leaves extensive damage to their house. Multiple agencies responded to 5669 North Main Street, just north of Norton Avenue around 12:30 on Sunday, September 8th. Webb City, Joplin, Carl Junction, and Oronogo firefighters worked to contain the fire. Traffic was blocked in the area as officials tapped into the fire hydrant across the street, running a hose over to the home. No injuries were reported.

Joplin, Mo – The Joplin community comes together to mourn the loss of one of their own. Joplin High School player Kadin Robert-Day passed away on Wednesday after an asthma attack during football practice. The young athlete is being remembered by friends, family, and the community as hundreds of mourners came together to light candles in memory of Kadin.

Boliver, Mo – Missouri Governor Mike Parson announces he will seek re-election in 2020. The Governor made the announcement on Sunday, August 8th at his cattle ranch in Bolivar, Missoiuri. It will be Parson’s first time running for Governor. He was originally elected Lieutenant Governor in 2016 and took over as the state’s top executive when former Governor Eric Greitens resigned. He will face-off against James Neely for the Republican nomination.
