Joplin, Mo – Joplin High School announces it will postpone its next game as the team and the community mourn the loss of a player. Joplin’s Kadin Roberts Died Wednesday after he had a medical emergency while at practice. The county coroner says a preliminary study leads him to believe Kadin died as a result of an asthma attack. Joplin’s game against Webb City has been rescheduled for Saturday at 7:00 P.M. at Cardinal Stadium.
Joplin, Mo – Joplin police say a motorcyclist is dead after a crash on seventh street Thursday evening. Police at the scene tell us the motorcycle’s rider was going west on seventh when a truck going east turned in front of the motorcycle. The rider was taken to the hospital where they died.
Newton County, Mo – Authorities in Newton County, Missouri have identified a home invasion suspect they have been searching for since Tuesday. The suspect has been identified as 34-year-old Jason Arthur Duncan. Duncan has been charged with first degree robbery, armed criminal assault, and second degree burglary. Police say Duncan has tattoos on his neck and both arms. They believe Duncan to be armed and dangerous.
Newton County, Mo – Newton County food pantries are seeing an increase in need. The Help Center is one of them. Last year, they helped around 900 people a month. But, so far this year, they’re helping closer to 950. East Newton United helps students who are food insecure. Last year, they helped 140 studnets, but so far this year, they’re helping more than 180.
