Joplin police arrest a man they say was threatening to kill people and police find a homemade explosive. The JPD says when officers arrived they heard a gunshot. The man had barricaded himself inside. After a stand-off the man surrendered himself. Authorities say when he was arrested the man told officers he had some type of explosives. No injuries were reported.
TRUCK DRIVER ARRESTED
The Missouri Highway Patrol is seeking charges after a truck driver left the scene of a crash that killed an eight year old girl. Destiny Chambers was struck and killed as she tried to cross Newman Road to her school bus, just before 7:00am Thursday morning. The Highway Patrol arrested the driver, a 49-year old male and is seeking charges of felony leaving the scene of the crash.
MISSING BOY FOUND DEAD
The FBI is trying to figure out how a missing boy with autism died. A search team found a body believed to be Maddox Ritch in heavily wooded section of Gastonia, North Carolina Thursday. The boy’s father says he went missing after he ran after a jogger at the park last weekend.
Federal regulators have asked a federal court to oust Elon Musk as CEO of Tesla. The SEC announced Thursday its suing Musk saying he committed securities fraud with tweets he sent in August… about possibly taking the electric carmaker private. The company and its board, later, released a statement in full support of Musk.
The Senate Judiciary Committee is set to vote this morning on Brett Kavanaugh’s nomination to the Supreme Court. Yesterday, senate lawmakers heard testimony from Doctor Christine Blasey Ford, who claims Kavanaugh sexually assaulted her when they both were in high school. Kavanaugh, who also testified, maintains his innocence.
