Kids garage sale teaches 4-State children
JOPLIN, Mo. – Four-State kids got the chance to try their hand at running their own little business with a group garage sale at Schifferdecker park on Saturday.
The Joplin Parks and Recreation Department opted to host the sale outside this year, letting kids set up their tables with toys, games, and clothing. These young vendors invested ten dollars to set up shop.
Organizers say it’s a fun way for kids to earn cash and learn about business.
“I think kids like to learn how to run a little business, so they put their stuff out there and sell to other people and they get that interaction with the public,” said Jessica Johnson with Joplin Parks and Rec.
The kids garage sale was open to children as young as 5 and as old as 12.
