Kids Classic Fun Run gets 4-State kids active

Kids Run In The Kids Classic Fun Run In Joplin

JOPLIN, Mo. – Plenty of kids from pre-K students up to 6th grade came out with their parents to the Joplin High School track for the annual Kids Classic Fun Run.

And this run isn’t just any traditional trek around the track. The young racers ran a course that took them off the track and through various parts of the school.

Volunteers with the Joplin Roadrunners helped organize the event and one of their members says it’s a great way to get kids active and get them interested in running and jogging.

“It’s an event that helps kids stay active in the running community. A lot of kids these days are stuck inside so this is a great event to get kids out here,” said Joplin Roadrunners member Chasity Marine.

This was the 35th annual fun run. The event was free and open to the public, and the kids who participated got themselves some t-shirts to commemorate the occasion.
