Kentucky authorities find stolen vehicle connected to Sarcoxie homicide case

SARCOXIE, Mo. – Investigators in Kentucky find the stolen vehicle connected to a Sarcoxie, Missouri homicide. Jasper County authorities are still looking for person of interest Justin Chase Stevens, who is considered armed and dangerous.

On Jan. 13, 2021, deputies responded to an unknown medical call at 2755 High St. in Sarcoxie. When they got there, they found Becci D. Sanders, 46, deceased inside the home. Police started looking for her stolen Subaru. On Jan. 21, Warren County, Kentucky deputies found the Subaru.

According to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office, investigators believe Stevens, 34, of Cullman, Alabama, arrived in the Sarcoxie, Missouri area on Jan. 1, 2021. On that date, authorities got a report that he and his sister had crashed their car around the I-44 mile marker 33. Someone gave them a ride to the area of the Sarcoxie Kum & Go where he reportedly ran off into the woods.

The Sheriff’s Office doesn’t know where Stevens is at this time. They have an active warrant for him for felony theft.
