Keith E. Beaver, 87, of Pittsburg, died February 10, 2022 at Via Christi Village in Pittsburg.
He was born June 27, 1934 in Pittsburg the son of John Troy and Minnie Crystal Smith Beaver. He had been a Pittsburg resident his entire life. He attended Pittsburg public school’s graduation from Pittsburg High School. He was a veteran serving in the Army National Guard.
He married Marilyn Joan Moore on December 15, 1953 in Mindenmines, MO. She died on March 18, 2017 after 63 years of marriage.
Mr. Beaver worked at Dickey Clay in Pittsburg for 27 years and later served as resident manager of the North Joplin Apartments for 27 years, retiring in 2002.
He was a member of the Lighthouse Tabernacle Church in Pittsburg. In his younger years he was an avid fisherman and hunter. He was a very hard working man working two or three jobs to support his family, he was a devoted family man.
He had been in good health living independently at his home and enjoying watching westerns everyday with his sweetheart Alice and enjoyed still driving and taking her out to eat. He enjoyed watching the cars go by sitting on his front porch. He also enjoyed attending church at the Light house Tabernacle, Pittsburg. Due to a stroke he was admitted to Via Christi Village for three months until his death.
Survivors include two sons Michael K. Beaver of Pittsburg and Mark E. Beaver and his wife Dianna of Weir, KS, one daughter Sherry L. Chapman and her husband James of Pittsburg, one brother Gary Wayne Beaver of Georgia, one daughter Donna Stroud of Denton, TX, his sweetheart Alice Meek of Pittsburg, five grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother Kenneth Beaver, one sister Lorene Wire, one grandson Nathan “Nonny” Chapman, his beloved dogs Dusty and Buddy.
Graveside services will be 2 pm Tuesday February 22, 2022 at the Crocker Cemetery with the Rev. Daryl Gaddy, officiating. Military graveside rites will be conducted at the graveside. A reception will follow the services from 4 to 6 pm Tuesday February 22, 2022 at the Frisco Event Center in Pittsburg, KS. A memorial has been established to the Alzheimer’s Association in care of the funeral home. Arrangements are by the Bath-Naylor Funeral Home, 522 S. Broadway in Pittsburg, KS.
