KDOT to begin field survey on U.S.169 in Neosho County

Monday, April 21, the Kansas Department of Transportation (KDOT) expects to start a field survey for a proposed pavement reconstruction project on U.S.169 in Neosho County. The survey is based on the existing U.S.169 alignment. The survey begins 2.8 miles north of K-47 and continues north for approximately 12 miles, ending at the Neosho-Allen county line.

This survey is estimated to last five months, weather permitting. Surveyors will gather information necessary for the detailed design of the proposed improvement. Activities will include the use of survey instruments on the ground to determine locations of existing features within the corridor. A member of the survey crew will first contact property owners and/or tenants for permission to enter private property. Kara LaRiviere, L.S., field survey project manager, will be in charge of this survey for KDOT.

The proposed U.S.169 project has not been funded for construction.
