KDHE recommends 14 day self-quarantine for those who traveled to Lake of the Ozarks over Memorial Day weekend

LAKE OF THE OZARKS, Mo – The Kansas Department of Health and Education recommends a voluntary 14-day self-quarantine for citizens who traveled to Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri over Memorial Day weekend and did not take protective measures like wear a face mask or follow social distancing guidelines.

This comes after videos surfaced online of large crowds at the Lake of the Ozarks not following proper social distancing practices.

“The reckless behavior displayed during this weekend risks setting our community back substantially for the progress we’ve already made in slowing the spread of COVID-19.”  KDHE Secretary, Dr. Lee Norman said.  “If you traveled to Lake of the Ozarks over the weekend, we urge you to act responsibly and self-quarantine to protect your neighbors, coworkers, and family.”

While Lake of the Ozarks may not be on the mandated travel list, KDHE strongly urges Kansans who traveled there for Memorial Day weekend to self-quarantine for 14 days.
