Kansas murder suspect captured in California

California officers arrested a southeast Kansas murder suspect Sunday morning. 57-year old Diana Bohlander, who’s wanted for murder in Cherokee county, is in custody. Bohlander is one of two suspects in the 2017 murder of James McFarland.

She surrendered to authorities in Santa Barbara California Sunday. She was there using the alias, Heather Mimms.

Bohlander’s son, Ty Bohlander, is also accused. He was captured in Santa Monica last month. That brought information that Diana was also in California. Ty Bohlander was extradited back to the Cherokee county jail.

The body of 64 year old James McFarland of Tulsa was found along a rural Cherokee County road April 30th of 2017.

Earlier this month, Kansas Governor Laura Kelly authorized a $5,000.00 reward for information leading to Diana Bohlander’s capture.
