Just Another Mudder Returns for outdoor fun

The sixth annual Just Another Mudder youth obstacle course was a big hit with the kids in Pittsburg Saturday.

There were 350 kids who preregistered for the event, and they went through the course in heats of 50.

The event is a one mile, youth-adventure race for kids 5 and older. This event challenges kids to run, jump, and crawl through a mud-filled obstacle course, and is meant to show them how much fun can be had getting some exercise outside.

“Childhood obesity, in my opinion, is an epidemic, and it’s something that we as Parks and Recreation, strive to make sure our kids have a way to be active and have fun and be healthy. And this is one of those ways that we do that,” said Sara Vacca with Pittsburg Parks and Recreation.

The event also served as a fundraiser for Schlanger Park’s Everybody Plays project.
