Judge dismisses attempted murder case
Alleged victim refuses to testify
CHEROKEE COUNTY, Kan. — A judge dismisses an attempted murder case after an alleged victim refuses to testify.
36-year-old Samuel Reffett was wanted for attempted murder in connection with a call of shots fired back on February 6, 2019 in Baxter Springs, Kansas.
No one was shot in that incident, but a victim was taken to the hospital with injuries to his head that authorities say was from a “blunt object.”
According to Cherokee County officials, the alleged victim left the state and refused to testify against Reffett.
Codefendant Charles Applegate’s case was dismissed earlier this year because no one would testify in it either.
