Juanita Palma McQuistion

Juanita Palma McQuistion of Miami, OK passed from this life Friday, September 17, 2021 at Mercy Hospital in Springfield, MO. She was 94.

Juanita was born April 19, 1927 in Wyandotte, OK to Grover E. and Palma Mae (Ellison) McQuistion, Sr. She had lived in the Miami, OK area most of her life. She was a member of the Wyandotte Nation.

Juanita was Historian and Genealogist for the Wyandotte Nation. She also had worked for Northwest Airlines in Wichita, KS working on gigs for air flaps. She was on the Board of Directors for the Wyandotte Nation, served on the Grievance Committee for 20 years, was a member of the Rebekah Lodge, served on the Citizen Committee for Urban Renewal, was a home room Mother for McKinley School and did office work for Wayne Pack.

She married Leon McQuistion, Sr. on January 11, 1944. He preceded her in death on March 4, 2017. She was also preceded by a grandson, Miles Everett Rentfrow, her parents, 3 brothers, Jim, Ed, and Grover, Jr. and 3 sisters, Katherine, Claudine and Jean.

Juanita is survived by 1 son, Leon McQuistion, Jr. of Miami, OK, 3 daughters, Carol Ann Rentfrow and her husband Richard of Quapaw, OK, Oresa King and her husband Joe of Miami, OK and Anita Lee Hudson and her husband Zack of Okesa, OK, 10 grandchildren, Billy Joe King, Shawn Dale King, Jack Howard Vandiver, Darrell Vandiver, Angie Tayrien, Donna Sue Rentfrow, Melvin Leon McQuistion, Jeannie McQuistion, Levi McQuistion and Johnny Johnson, 19 great-grandchildren and 18 great great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 21, 2021 with Billy Friend officiating. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers. The family will receive friends 6-7 p.m. Monday evening at Paul Thomas Funeral Home in Miami, OK. Services have been placed in the care of Paul Thomas Funeral Home and Cremation Service of Miami, OK.
