JPD releases tips to avoid car burglaries
JOPLIN, Mo. – The Joplin Police Department provides tips to ensure residents in the 4-States don’t fall victim to an auto burglary incident.
Police reports indicate ‘theft from vehicle’ cases are on the rise; furthermore, police say the easiest way to avoid theft is to lock your car.
JPD provided the following tips to ensure safety:
- Don’t leave expensive electronics in your car
- Bring firearms inside overnight
- Lock anything important in your vehicle’s glove box
In May, officers say there has been 24 ‘theft from vehicle’ cases. Be sure to contact the JPD or officers in your area if you see any suspicious activity.
