JPD Captain finishes 13-week training course

JOPLIN, Mo – Captain William Davis of the Joplin police department spent the last 13 weeks at the University Louisville Southern Police Institute, learning ways on how he can better serve the department and the city of Joplin.

Over the 13 weeks, Davis learned leadership skills, skills on how to properly run a department, and studied crime data from across the country,

He assures that the skills he learned during the training will benefit both the department and the city of Joplin.

“What can we utilize and what’s going to work best here in the city of Joplin,” said Captain Davis. “We want to make it a better place for our citizens. So that’s the ultimate goal that we’re going to strive to achieve.”
