Joplin’s recycling coordinator calls it a career

Joplin's recycling coordinator talks about her retirement

Joplin’s recycling coordinator Mary Anne Phillips announced she is retiring.

Phillips has worked for the city for nearly 23 years. She played a part in implementing many programs including Joplin’s recycling drop off center, drug drop off boxes, and residential trash franchises.

“I’m happy to be able to start my own life but very sad to think that I won’t be seeing all the people at (city hall) and I won’t be on the inside track on some things, but I’m still going to stay in contact with people,” said Mary Anne.

Mary Anne’s last day will be on January 17th.
