Joplin Trails Coalition receives $64,000 grant
A $64,000 grant has been given to the Joplin Trails Coalition for construction on the Ruby Jack Trail.
The grant from the Missouri Department of Natural Resources and a local match, will cover the $100,000 project, a 2 mile stretch from Highway 171 in Carl Junction to Route JJ.
The first eight miles of the 16-mile trail are complete.
Coalition members say the incomplete portion must be graded and resurfaced.
Construction is scheduled to begin next spring.
