Joplin Seeks Public Opinion During Historic Nomination Process

JOPLIN, Mo. – Joplin officials seek public opinion for the East Town Historic Nomination process.

The Historic Preservation Commission wants to complete the National Register Nomination of the Broadway District in the neighborhood of East Town.

Today, the city hosted an event at Brookhouse Cinema at 6 p.m. to inquire about public opinion.

Representatives with the consultant Owen & Eastlake, Ltd. will facilitate the meeting to address the significance and the process being followed as they work on the nomination.

This will be the first of two public meetings for the project.
