Joplin Schools superintendent takes annual photos with new kindergarten students

The first day of school for kindergartners in Joplin included a photo opportunity.

The new students got their picture taken on Thursday with Superintendent C.J. Huff. It’s something he does every year.

Each photo has a “Class of 2026” logo as a fun way to look forward to graduation.

“One of the things I really enjoy is the feedback from students when they become first, second, and third graders those pictures may be hanging on the fridge at the home and they know who I am – it gives me a chance to develop a relationship with them,” says Dr. Huff.

In addition to the snapshot students also received a book written and donated by a local author, Sheila Gunlock called “Groovy Granny and the Character Bees”.
