Joplin Schools hold ribbon cutting to unveil new store

The new Joplin High School apparel store opened it’s doors for business on Friday. The school district held a ribbon cutting to unveil the new store.

It’s called Eddie’s Closet, named for the Joplin Eagle mascot. The store has a number of Eagle-wear items and all profits go back in for more merchandise.

School officials say they want the store to improve the school pride in the community.

“It’s just been an evolution of more Eagles and more Eagles and it’s really neat, we’re really excited and hopefully with this being a convenient location and lots of merchandise we can just get more Eaglenized,” says Joplin School board member Anne Sharp.

Eddie’s Closet is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

The store is located at the Joplin Schools Administration building at 3901 East 32nd Street.

Officials say new items arrive every couple weeks.
