Joplin Schools bus driver shortages are delaying students time on being home
JOPLIN – Joplin students arrive home late after school due to bus driver shortages. This year Joplin schools can only run 45 routes compared to last year running 55 routes. They do have 6 new bus drivers in training for other CDL licenses so they can start driving. Among the regular bus routes, there are also activities that need drivers. After-school activities and tutoring are offered to allow students to stay after school until the buses can take them home.
