Joplin School District invites public input on possible projects
(Joplin School District) NOTICE OF COMMUNITY INPUT SESSIONS – JULY 9,10, & 11
Superintendent of Joplin Schools Melinda Moss and the Joplin Schools Board of Education invite you to the following Community Input Sessions:
— Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at 10 a.m., in the West Central Elementary School Safe Room
— Tuesday, July 9, 2019, at 7 p.m., in the West Central Elementary School Safe Room
— Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at 10 a.m., in the Irving Elementary School Library
— Wednesday, July 10, 2019, at 7 p.m., in the Irving Elementary School Library
— Thursday, July 11, 2019, at 10 a.m., in the Columbia Elementary School Safe Room
— Thursday, July 11, 2019, at 7 p.m., in the Columbia Elementary School Safe Room
These input sessions are in response to the summary recommendations provided by the Joplin Schools Long Term Facility Committee to the Joplin Board of Education that the district utilize a no tax increase bond issue within the district’s estimated bonding capacity to construct a new addition at Kelsey Norman Elementary at a cost estimate of $2.875 million; and that the district construct a new combined school for Columbia Elementary and West Central Elementary at a new site for 450 students at an estimated cost of $19.6 million. All citizens are encouraged to attend.
