Joplin Police host National Night Out in Schifferdecker Park

JOPLIN, Mo. — Tuesday evening Joplin Police hosted kids and families in Schifferdecker Park for the National Night Out.

Free food and drinks along with vendors, our K9 team, Emergency Communications Team members, Joplin Fire Department, SWAT team members, amd vehicles.

The evening wrapped with a free swim at Schifferdecker Aquatic Center.

This is a national event meant to increase awareness about police programs in communities, such as drug prevention, neighborhood watch, and other anti-crime efforts.

In Joplin it’s normally held prior to the beginning of the school year.

Other communities across the region will host their own events. 38 million neighbors across 16,000 communities will participate in National Night Out tonight. 2022 marks 38 years of NNO gatherings.
