Joplin Police arrest suspect after a chase

JOPLIN, Mo – A police chase in Joplin ends after a suspects crashes into a utility pole Monday morning.

According to authorities, police initially tried to stop 18-year-old Hunter Sease of Webb City because he seemed intoxicated.

The driver led police on a chase onto I-44.

Police say the driver eventually pulled over, but when the officers got out of their cars, the suspect put his vehicle in reverse and hit the officer’s car.

The Sease also assaulted an officer after he hit a utility pole on 7th and Pearl.

Sease is charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Resisting Arrest, and Assault in Jasper County and Assault in the 1st Degree, Property Damage, and Resisting Arrest in Newton County.

The officers and K9 officer in the vehicle Sease hit were not seriously injured.
