Joplin officials announce city’s first presumptive positive case of Covid-19

JOPLIN, Mo. — Joplin health officials announced on March 23 the first presumptive positive case of COVID-19 in the city. Officials say the patient is an adult but didn’t provide more details to protect the patients privacy. The Joplin Health Department does not believe this is a travel-related case and are notifying people the patient has had contact with recently. The Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services is assisting with the investigation.
