Joplin Murder: Charges Filed, Court Documents Received

A 24-year-old is charged with first degree murder and armed criminal action. KOAM/FOX14 received court documents today on the case (August 30, 2018).

On August 29th, 2018, Kosaksy Phillip of Joplin allegedly shot and killed 33-year-old Diamond J. Bradley, also of Joplin. The crime happened at the Economy Inn & Suites at 1700 W. 30th Street. According to court documents, Phillip shot Bradley multiple times with a handgun eight minutes after he had been invited inside room 113. Authorities say one shot hit Bradley in the chest. Bradley later died from his wounds at Freeman Hospital.

The preliminary autopsy report shows Bradley was shot four times, including once in the chest, once in the hip and twice in the lower leg.

Joplin Police got a call about the shooting around 11:49 a.m. They were told Phillip left the scene on foot. Around 3:55 p.m. Phillip was arrested in the area of the Economy Inn. He’s being held with no bond.
