Two people are dead after a crash Saturday night in Barry county Missouri including a Joplin man.

57 year old Scott Menick was a passenger in a car driven by Johnny Berry of Exeter. Both men were killed when Berry failed to yield to a southbound vehicle and the car was struck in the side.

The crash occurred on Highway 37, three miles south of Cassville at farm road 2212 .Neither man was wearing a seatbelt.

Menick was pronounced dead at the scene. Berry died at cox south emergency room.

The deaths marks the 17th and 18th fatalities for 2019 in Troop D.
