Joplin Humane Society is overflowing with wonderful dogs, cats, puppies and kittens, and, in an effort to
entice adopters through the door and into the kennels and cattery rooms, they will be offering a great deal
on pets that have been overlooked for more than 30 days.
“Vintage Dogs and Classic Cats are wonderful, adoptable pets who just have not yet found their perfect
family,” said Lysa Boston, Shelter Manager. “We are looking for amazing families to match these pets up
with,” she added. “Vintage Dogs and Classic Cats are FREE to amazing homes.”
According to Boston, the shelter had taken in 830 pets since June 28th. “We reach a point where there is
simply no more room,” said Boston. “When we have more coming in than going out, we need to come up
with new, creative ways to find homes or rescue alternative.” Boston said sadly there is never a shortage of
pets. “One day in June, we took in 67 animals in just one day.”
The shelter is open for adoptions Friday from 1-6pm, Saturday from 10-5pm, Sunday 1-4pm and Monday
through Thursday 1-5pm. All adoptions require an approved application. JHS reminds everyone that pets
are a lifetime commitment, and hopes all families will give careful consideration to pet ownership before
adoption.
