Joplin Health Department announces 12 new Coronavirus cases

Brings city's total to 56

JOPLIN, Mo. — The Joplin Health Department on June 18 announced 12 new positive cases of Coronavirus, bringing the city’s total to 56. Officials say 10 of the cases are within Jasper County and 2 are in Newton County. Of those 12, 10 are adults and 2 are children. They say there is no known recent travel associated with any of the cases. 8 are from community spread, 3 are contacts of a previous case and 1 is still being investigated. The health department also says they have 20 active cases, with 101 people under quarantine.
