Joplin Council to address mask ordinance at Monday meeting

Joplin City Hall

JOPLIN, Mo. – The Joplin mask mandate, which is set to expire on Monday, August 17th, will be discussed during the Monday council meeting.

The ordinance passed 6-3 at a July meeting of the council after being voted down at a previous meeting. The council ultimately adopted the ordinance and put an expiration date of August 17th on it, but also included the clause that council could decide to repeal it ahead of that time, or potentially extend it beyond that time.

A number of residents are scheduled to speak at Monday’s meeting about the ordinance. That meeting is scheduled for 6:00pm on Monday at Joplin City Hall in the 5th floor council hcambers. We’ll have complete coverage of that meeting on KOAM News.
