Jerry Lee Barbee
February 16, 1938 —– January 14, 2022
Jerry Lee Barbee was born February 16, 1938 in Webb City, Oklahoma to William Marcus Barbee and Coney Inez Medlin.
Jerry was called home to our Lord the morning of January 14, 2022 at Springfield Villa, she was 83. Jerry resided in Springfield Missouri for the last few years of her life, where she regularly attended Wesley United Methodist Church. Jerry retired from Walmart where she worked as a cashier for several years. She had a passion for spending time with her family, watching the Kansas City Chiefs, embroidering, crocheting, watching nature and listening to classic country and gospel music. Jerry, to all who knew her, was a kind and caring individual.
She is remembered by her close family and friends for giving warm hugs, sharing stories of her youth, her unique sense of humor and loving soul. Jerry was preceded in death by her parents William and Inez, brothers Lew, Carl, Grover, and Kirby Barbee, and sisters Pauline, Katherine, Grace, and Laveda. She is survived by 2 sisters Coney Allen and Alois Root, children John and his wife Peggy, Jim and his partner Kay, Bill and his wife Dora, Katrina and her husband Tom, Aleta and her husband Wes, Barbara and her husband Troy, 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, multiple cousins, nieces and nephews-especially Sandra Torres who was like a sister.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Ozark Memorial Park Crematory of Joplin, Mo.
